Welsh harpist Catrin Finch, affectionately nicknamed `Queen of Harps', has established herself as the leading figure of the harp world. Born in 1980 she began studying the harp at the age of 6, played at the World Harp Congress in Paris at 10 and became the youngest person to perform at a Royal Albert Hall BBC Proms concert at the age of 11 as harpist for the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.

When aged 16 her studies continued in London at the Purcell School then at the Royal Academy of Music, and over the following 4 years she won awards including the Lily Laskine International Harp Competition in France, one of the world's most prestigious harp competitions.

Following on from that achievement she won the Young Concert Artists International Auditions in New York, and subsequently played in over 30 US states, the Middle East, Asia and Europe.

In 2004 she was nominated for a Classical Brit Award (Young British Classical Performer) and has since made appearances with the Boston Pops, Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Her association with Karl Jenkins led her to perform a premiere of a double harp concerto commissioned by HRH the Prince of Wales and she is currently working on new compositions for the harp with Howard Goodall and John Rutter. If all that wasn't enough Catrin was appointed `Royal Harpist' to HRH the Prince of Wales between 2000 and 2004, and she also found time to marry and give birth to a baby girl in December 2006.
