This is a fantastic album for music lovers as well as dancers. The band's arrangements of tried and tested standards and ballads are a refreshing mix of old and new with a modern feel. Bruce's 'Saturday night is the loneliest night of the week' is an upbeat joy. Just compare it to Frank Sinatra's original, and you will hear the freshness for yourself. Technically the album sounds great with a good balance between brass and vocalists. Just a gem, I do hope there is a 'Strictly Come Dancing Too' soon.

We are young (39 & 43), experienced dancers who also play dance music professionally. Excellent value for money. This is a good mix of dances for young dancers and old. The Latin dances are aimed at younger dancers. The modern ballroom for the more traditional dancers. Track by track comments:- T1 has good tempo. T2 Ok for younger dancers. T3 Nice Foxtrot. T4 Nice Rumba. T5 for the experienced dancer to pick out the beat. T6 NOT a Paso Doble more like a Samba! T7 Nice dreamy Waltz. T8 Good Quickstep. T9 For young dancers. T10 A fast Foxtrot. T11 Very slow Rumba T12 Good Jive long into. T13 OK Samba. T14 Nice tempo. T15 Traditional Tango easy to follow. T16 Terrible, too fast for Waltz too slow for Viennese Waltz! T17 Nice Jive. T18 Steady Foxtrot. T19 For the experienced dancer only. T20 Nice and clear tempo. T21 as track 19. T22 OK T23 Too slow for a Paso Doble! T24 Very fast perhaps more Mambo than Samba. T25 Not a dance track but the shows' theme tune.

This album, judging from the other comments is clearly ideally suited to dancers who want to use it to dance to... Fair enough, with a title like "Strictly Come Dancing" - that's fair enough. But...
One of the big attraction for me of "Strictly" is the fine orchestra and singers performing loungy versions of popular tunes, along with some traditional dance music - this album looked great (and I didn't look carefully enough) until I found that the majority of the songs were performed by the great Bruce Forsyth; don't get me wrong - I like Bruce, he's come back better than ever and a few songs from him would be great, but he just can't carry the album. You won't be sorry you bought this, it's nice to listen to - I'd just have liked more of the house band and singers, that's all! And Bruce, on the off chance you read this - I still love you!
