Product Description

Christine Bleakley, Jodie Kidd, Cherie Lunghi, Heather Small, Lisa Snowdon, Rachel Stevens, Gillian Taylforth and Jessie Wallace represented the women, while Andrew Castle, Tom Chambers, Phil Daniels, Mark Foster, Austin Healey, Gary Rhodes, John Sergeant and Don Warrington were the male celebrity dancers. Judges Len Goodman, Craig Revel Horwood, Arlene Phillips and Bruno Tonioli returned to cast a professional eye over the competitors' performances.

The sensational sixth series of television’s celebrity dancing extravaganza had everything--the usual glitz and glamour, but also show-stopping moves, heartbreak, laughs and controversy. Sixteen celebrity contestants, paired with internationally renowned professional dancers took on everything from the Tango to the Paso Doble as they fought to keep their place in the competition.

As the dancers left the series or progressed to fine tune their steps, the tension--and the standard of their performances--reached astonishing levels. Finally, after 14 weeks of dance-offs, in an amazing three-way final, Tom Chambers and his partner Camilla Dallerup danced their way to become the sixth Strictly Come Dancing champions.

Containing over three hours of show-stopping footage including all the semi final and final dances in their entirety. Plus an exclusive behind the scenes look at the final--only available on this DVD.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Value! 28 Feb 2009
Series Six was perhaps not the most entertaining, so far (what ever happened to the announced issue of the Series Five DVD?), but you certainly get a lot for your money.

The first disk contained highlights of the pro/celebrity dances throughout the series, with the semi-final and final dances in full. We have to live with the BBC camera style: whirling around and around, and frequently not showing the dancers feet, or cutting away, while something interesting was about to happen, to glance at a guest b-list celeb with a free ticket to the show (as rare as hen's teeth, unless you are a b-list celeb - and there are no shortage of them). However, the picture and sound quality are very good, and the content - well, everyone knows what to expect - is entertaining, as ever.

The second disk has the groups dances and the pro dances, together with some additional bits and pieces. You get around five hours of content, in total, and at the current price, it is undoubtedly good value.

Now then, BBC, what about the Series Five DVD?

5.0 out of 5 stars First Class Production 12 Feb 2009
If you enjoyed the series you will love this. A first class review of the entire series week by week in excellent picture and sound quality. The emphasis is on the dancing including the professional only dances and the group dances.

A very thorough job. Your best bits should be included somewhere here.

4.0 out of 5 stars must have for strictly fans 17 July 2009
By Suze
Brilliant dvd with the whole final on it, if you loved strictly you will love this! has all the best moments from the 2008 series and the best of the professional dances (amazing!). Shame they haven't done this in previous years as 2008 wasn't actually the best series but worth it for tom and camillas freestyle alone

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
I bought this DVD last year at full price. What a waste of money. The comments were superimposed over the dancing and in fact the best bits were not there at all. Read more
