Great book. To me core and cardio training are the most important forms of training. The book is divided into 4 chapters.

The Introduction to what core training is. Chapter 2: Different core training exercise. This section is a step by step account with easy to follow pictures and detailed instructions on how to perform each exercise. Chapter 3 Training Programs: This chapter is gives examples of training programs how core training can help in warming up, to the main focus of the workout, to injury prevention. Chapter 4: is a summary of how core training can help in different sports.

The great thing about this book is it is for everyone, from athletes, to someone simple wanting to correct their posture. There are also detailed sections for exercise, and programs for women during and post pregnancy. This is a great book for whatever your excerise goals are. I also live the fact that most of the book's exercises, can be done with minimum equipment. There are enhancement that can be made using kettle bells and exercise balls and other equipment, but mostly there can be done using body weight training so they can be done anywhere.

Brilliant book, lots of basic stuff here but also lots of more advanced stuff too. Very good for beginners building up to advanced level. Great descriptions and illustrations to get you head round each workout. Highly recommended.

Over the years I have built up a routine of exercises and stretches for a number of minor (and one fairly major) injuries and weaknesses. I do these everyday and they were becoming time consuming so I decided to get a core training programme book to help me target and prioritise.

Don't be put off by the price (£5.20), this is a thoroughly well put together book in every sense.

Exercises are grouped into different types (e.g. mobility, strength, etc.) as well as degree of challenge and there are several selections for type of sport etc.

Each exercise is fully explained with a straightforward series of diagrams and instructions. It is perfect for my needs and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Great book this. I have developed some back problems due to poor posture. The book has a range of exercises, well illustrated and explain and programs in the back which help you to select the exercise most appropriate to your needs. It has a "better posture" program and I have been following for a couple of weeks and already it has been effective. Great book!

Excellent, easy to follow exercises. My 12 year old was a gymnast for 7 years and is hypermobile. He has to increase his core stability to protect himself. We are slowly going through the exercises together. My only criticism would be to encourage breathing out on exertion. Very important so the correct muscles are used. Thanks

My sports physio put me on to this book - he had a well thumbed copy which he showed me. It is perfect, especially for those who want to move away from training with heavy weighs and, instead, move onto trimmimg down and tightening up. It sets out how the body works and how muscles relate to exercise. Diagrams and pictures are easy to follow as are the programmes at the back. This book could be used as a stand alone guide, or in conjunction with instructed core training (pilates etc.) It is worth every penny.
