Some side stories 17 Aug 2010
Format:Paperback
The fourth volume of the Street Fighter comic series, as its title "Bonus Stage" suggests, brings the reader a compilation of side-stories which evolves around the different characters. This includes an episode of Sagat's defeat in the previous tournament, the assassin who strikes at Gen and Chun-Li, the early stage of Cammy blending in with Delta Red etc...

Despite the interesting stories which explore the different characters, personally I found it a slightly disappointing experience to read. To begin with the weaker argument, I was expecting the story in the present, following from the first three volumes (which I greatly enjoyed) when I bought this volume. I guess that's a case of not reading the title properly. The bigger part of which I was disappointed with was the art-styles in some of the chapters. I know there are different artists involved, but I preferred it it the styles were more consistant with similar levels of details (as was the case in the first three volumes). Other than that there were some chapters at which I simply disliked both the story and the art because they simply didn't seem to fit with the series.

In summary, when you read this volume, you will experience a change in pace, change in how the comic's drawn so it should come down to how well you take these changes.

The truth 28 Oct 2009
By Hornet
Format:Paperback
Amazon has yet again surprised me with the fast delivery of this product which i Ordered a day before.Honestly this has to be my best delivery service yet. Thanks Amazon for your service
Now for the Comic.I have collected all the volumes of street fighter comic and this is yet an ok edition to the series. After reading volume 3, i really expected the ultimate showdown to continue in this because volume 3 ended with all fighters recieving invitations to the Street fighter tournamnet.rather than the ultimate battle, this book surprisingly narrated the early profile of each major fighter in 4-5 pages(ryu scaring sagat, guile and charlie's friendship and so on).In all this book has 144 pages with each story divided into chapters.
The Art work on the other hand varied with a different artist illustrating each story (i loved the second and third story art) this really hampered the enjoyment flow.
Please dont get me wrong. If you are a sreet fighter fan like me and collect SF comics, then this is your turf but if you are a casual reader ...you might only appreciate the artwork if nothing else.

Bonus Book 20 Feb 2009
By T. Wong
Format:Paperback
This is the 4th volume in the Street Fighter graphic novel series. However, it does not follow on with the main story of the series. This last book is exactly as it says a "bonus" book, which contains a collection of short stories of most of the key characters from the game/story which are primarily background to the main story of the first 3 volumes. The artwork is highly variable because many artists have contributed, so it can be off-putting when you read some of the chapters and the artwork changes even though it is part of the same story arc. The final chapters are just a bit of fun, where the characters are "chibi-ed" and have no bearing whatsoever on the main story. For the die-hard fan, it will obviously be part of the collection. For the casual reader, it's just a chance not to get too involved with the lore. In summary, this is a nice introduction (despite being the last book) to the series, and as Street Fighter IV has just been released as I write this, it will probably make a good addition.
