I bought this book a few months ago not long after having bought the game. I have been a long-time SF fan but lost track for a couple of years after the first Alpha game. I also have a guide of both Super SF2 games published by GameFan that made me decide that this book would be a worthwhile investment. Through it I learned a lot about the newer techniques and how they had been changed since Alpha 2 (which I now have).

I was pleased to see that a page was given to the main characters to explain their stories and game histories. I knew a lot of it but some of it I didn't (like Karin being one of Ken's fans). I learned about the moves such as Juli's super uppercutting kick, previously I had only got 6 to 8 hits from it, now I have a personal best of 25 hits!

I know I would have got bored of constant combo suggestions as I find having combos dictated to me boring.

However the only short fall is the lack of detail on the World Tour Mode. Perhaps a second book should be published giving tips on how to use each fighter in each task. The Washington reader wanted endings, I think this would spoil some of the surprises that you learn.

Overall a great book, with the tips on 'alternative' techniques (like the easy version of the 360 degree motion) adding a lot.

I bought this book because i had the game.I wanted to see all the fighter's moves.I was mistaken it didn't have any of them,all it gave me was a summary of the fighter's life.It was not worth my hard earned money

I'm starting to think that Capcom just pulls Mega Man and Street Fighter games out of nowhere whenever they get bored and run out of original ideas. I bought the guide to this game so that I could keep up to date with the Street Fighter series. Well, there were other reasons too... Anyway, this turned out to be a great book, and it fully explains the whole confusing X-ism, Y-ism, A-ism thing. Plus, it gives a lot of information about the characters' backgrounds. I had to dock the book one star because--since it gives full move lists and paragraph-long biographies for 32 characters--it cut back on a lot of things that the past Alpha Official Strategy Guides had. Examples include endings and damage percentages for each attack.
