Visually a great book, but has some significant flaws. Most of the designs need a pair of socks to make them. There are some you can do with odd stray socks, the little pig is a good example, but the title is misleading.
The first 73 pages are pure indulgence by the author & his photographer, they add absolutely nothing to your ability to make the animals. To add insult to injury most of the creatures in these pages are not given making instructions in the craft part of the book. The rabbits & stripy critter on the front cover are not included in the instructions!
The instructions do leave out some critical explanations: how do you hide the end of your thread once you've embroidered the stuffed head of an animal? I'm still working that out for the Cheshire Cat. Also where do you position his legs? It's frustrating!
I'd say buy it if you have a moderate amount of sewing experience, total beginners will get annoyed by the lack of complete clear instructions. Be aware that many of the creatures in the first part of the book have no instructions( why not show how to do the duck for example?) I'm happy with the price I paid ,but would have felt disappointed if I'd have paid full price.
