The Daily Mail; "A clever, moving, imaginative book for cat-lovers of any age." The Daily Telegraph; "A cat of literary distinction." The Observer; "An excellent book... for the whole family." The Spectator --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

About the Author

A.N. Wilson is a confirmed cat-lover, saying, "I can think of many ways in which I would be a better person if I were more like my cats, but I cannot think of a single way in which my cats would be better for being more like me." A distinguished novelist, biographer and journalist, A.N. Wilson has won several prestigious awards. Stray was his first book about cats - he has since written a picture book, The Tabitha Stories about the daughter of "the stray", Pufftail - and he is also the author of another animal story, Hazel the Guinea-pig. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow! 3 Mar 2006
Format:Paperback
I found this book incredibly touching. Lots of books have been written from the point of view of animals, but none are quite so amazing. Open this book and you are whisked into the world of Pufftail, an old cat telling the story of his life to his grandson. You travel through a testing labatory where he sees terrible, gruesome things, through living in a gang of cats, from finding a mate and having kittens and then having the only thing you care about in the world whisked away. Stray is absolutely amazing. Everyone will enjoy this touching tale of a cat and his world

This book takes you to into the world of Pufftail, and does not miss out on any of the grity bits! It is a biography and portrays a cats life in a new and enlightening way. I think this book is one of my all time favourites and will definately become a classic.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best Book ever! 1 Nov 2000
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
This is the best book I have ever read . It is funny and heart wrenching and is about the life of Pufftail . I wouldn't recommend it to anyone below the age of 10 because sometimes it is quite sad but I don't think you have to love cats to enjoy this book .
