Book Description

Part of the Coda Series

When Jonathan Kechter agrees to a blind date with Cole Fenton, he expects nothing more than dinner and a one-night stand... but he gets more than he bargained for in Cole. Cole is arrogant, flamboyant, and definitely not Jon’s type. Still, when Cole suggests an arrangement of getting together for casual sex whenever they're both in town, Jon readily agrees.

Their arrangement may be casual, but Jonathan soon learns that when it comes to Cole Fenton, nothing is easy. Between Cole’s fear of intimacy and his wandering lifestyle, Jonathan wonders if their relationship may be doomed from the start—but the more Cole pushes him away, the more determined Jon is to make it work.

5.0 out of 5 stars A treat! 30 Jan. 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I've recently discovered Marie Sexton as an author and this is the second of her books I have read, the first one being 'Promises', which incidentally is a fantastic read. I wasn't sure how I was going to react to the character of Cole in his 'own' story.
Having read this book though and following the unfolding tale of Cole and Jonny, I must confess to having fallen a little in love with him myself! It's a lovely read, romantic, angsty, sexy, a few tears and lots of laughs - everything I enjoy reading in this genre of fiction.
If you're a lover of m/m romance, or really ANY romance, then treat yourself and buy this - you won't be disappointed!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another triumph for Marie Sexton 2 Sept. 2010
By EBR45
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Marie Sexton is one of my favourite authors so I was anxious to read her latest novel and I wasn't disappointed. I like the way she continues to link up characters from previous novels (in this case Jared from "Promises" - albeit his "appearance" is only in the form of e-mails between him and his previous part-time lover, Cole, but it was nice to have the connection there) as well as Jonathan, Zach's ex-lover from A to Z. It's like reading (and caring) about old friends. While "Promises" will always be my favourite book by this author, "A to Z" and "Strawberries for Dessert" come a very close tied second.

4.0 out of 5 stars Credible, original and compelling. 15 Sept. 2012
By Steve
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Many gay love stories rely on some external drama for their interest - interspersed with sex scenes which, however enjoyable, are almost an add-on. Not so this book which traces an unlikely but highly credible love affair between the conservative Jonthan and the more flamboyant Cole. All the drama of the story is in the unfolding of the relationship between these two attractive but complicated men and the erotically charged sex scenes fit perfectly with the overall relationship. Marie Sexton draws her characters well: they are rounded and subtle and draw the reader in to a compelling story. One of her best.

5.0 out of 5 stars Book Four in a series 2 Jun. 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Again this is a part of a series that I had not read before. Again it didn't matter as it seemed to stand well on it's own. However I might well be looking for previous books in the series as the author has done a wonderful job of getting me very interested in her Characters. The two in this story are so opposite and yet fit so well together that even though I knew the ending was (probably) happy, because of the opening, I was hooked and rooting for the relationship to work out. I especially liked that it was told from one POV but the emails to a friend gave us the thoughts of the second main character.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thought I wouldn't enjoy it....darling! 15 Aug. 2011
By Simon
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I don't like camp and effeminite....I must admit to being more than a little in love with Matt from the first book in this series, "Promises". But, d'you know...I really enjoyed it. Cole may be a theatrical little queen and probably the last person on earth I'd want to associate with, but by the end of the novel I found myself actually liking the character. Another great read in the Coda series by Marie Sexton.
