Book Description

1 April 2010 0071289577 978-0071289573 3
Strategic Management of Technological Innovation, 3e by Melissa Schilling is the first comprehensive and rigorous, yet accessible text for the Technology and Innovation Management course. Unlike other books, Schilling’s approach synthesizes the major research in the field, providing students with the knowledge needed to enhance case discussion and analysis. The subject is approached as a strategic process, and as such, is organized to mirror the strategic management process used in most strategy textbooks, progressing from assessing the competitive dynamics of a situation, to strategy formulation, to strategy implementation. As a brief, affordable paperback, it is ideal to package with cases. Recommended case sets from the author are available through the Primis Custom Case Database or from the Harvard Business School Case Database.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good introduction to the subject 20 April 2007
Format:Paperback
This book gives an good overview of the subject with good examples. The book is very useful for students who haven't got experience with this subject, for people who do have experience it is not very useful since the content is most likely already known.

More experienced students I would advice this book: Strategy Analysis and Practice by John McGee, Howard Thomas, and David Wilson.

3.0 out of 5 stars Bought this for exam only 1 Jan 2013
By SWP
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I only bought this book for the exam. From what I have read (only a few chapters), the content seems comprehensive, goes into each subject with enough depth, provide enough examples, easier to read than other books on innovation that I have seen, but still pretty boring (down to personal preference).

1.0 out of 5 stars I order a book but what I've got is a box! 17 Dec 2012
By Fon
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I order a book but what I've got is a "Keep Calm and Carry on" box! What should I do? Keep calm just as what the box wrote????
First, I ordered this book with the 4th edition and Amazon promise to send it within 7 days. Then 7 days passes, they sent me the email wrote that this book cannot be send in time.
So I ordered the third edition instead, and what they sent me is the "Keep calm" box. Can I keep calm, when I need this book for my exam next week?

I can't believe that Amazon service could be this bad.
