Product Description

All she wants is to protect her daughter and avoid notice. But the handsome stranger with Frank Sinatra eyes threatens to change everything. For two long years, Abbie Campbell has been on the run with her four-year-old daughter, Emma. Then she receives a visit from Jake Connors, a friend of her parents, who convinces her to join them in the beautiful town of Cold Creek, Oregon. Jake is determined to help Abbie clear her name of the accusations that sent her into hiding. Being in with her family again—and with Jake—fills Abbie with a peace she hasn’t felt in years, and the prospect of turning an old lumber town into an artists’ retreat gives her new purpose. But then comes an unknown threat worse than all that Abbie has already faced, worse even than the fear of discovery. For lurking in the beautiful hills of Cold Creek is a killer determined to stop her at all costs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Strangers in the Night 26 Feb 2013
By T Heskett - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Kidnapping, a mysterious disappearance, an artists' colony, a great cast of characters--Patricia Rushford's Strangers in the Night has all the elements of satisfying romantic suspense. Well developed characters drew me into the story and held my interest. Expert pacing keeps the suspense and romance well balanced. A great read for anyone who enjoys a good mystery--especially one set on the scenic Oregon coast.

4.0 out of 5 stars A page turner 4 Mar 2013
By M. Duckworth - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
"Strangers in the Night" hooked me from the first page. Rushford's carefully crafted threat of danger and promise of romance made me forget the Pacific Northwest's dark days and drenching rain. As a
writer and artist myself, I was intrigued with the idea of an Artist's Colony and wished there was one where I live. An accomplished story teller, Rushford's tale has more plot twists than an old country road.

3.0 out of 5 stars Strangers in the Night was a good read! :) 21 Aug 2013
By Melanie - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Strangers in the Night was a good read - a little predictable, but I still enjoyed it. I liked the characters and thought the romance was sweet, though I wish the ending would have had a bit more closure.

The mystery was good and, while I did end up guessing the guilty party, there were still a few surprises in the story and Strangers in the Night kept me interested.

This is the first book I've read from the "When I Fall In Love" collection, but it won't be my last, as I'm really excited to read "Unforgettable" by Trish Perry when I have the time.

If you enjoy books with some romance and suspense, I think you might enjoy Strangers in the Night.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good middle 20 July 2013
By rachelm - Published on Amazon.com

Overall the book was good. But, a better beginning and end would have made it so much better.
Jake`s feelings at the beginning seemed to come out of nowhere. He had strong feelings for Annie, but he just met her.
I don't want to give away the end but suffice it to say it was really flat.
The suspense and mystery build and twist in the middle of the book were quite good.

3.0 out of 5 stars Artist's colony murder mystery 8 Jun 2013
By Sharon Schultz - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Good suspense with no unneeded blood & guts. Twists & turns with a touch of romance. The young woman seems so believable, but no one can be trusted.
