When I discovered my son was gay I was desperate for something to read on the topic. I am grateful that I found A Stranger in the Family. It gave me all the information I needed, set out in plain language and with a humane and understanding author to guide me. I really feel that I know Terry Sanderson after reading this book. He feels just like the perfect friend for someone in this situation.I would recommend any parent who is struggling with the knowledge that their son or daughter is homosexual to read this book. It will help them through the crisis and perhaps save their family from unnecessary break-up.

It was great to get hold of this book. My son turned out to be gay and although I instinctively didn't have a problem I found that many christian and other religious people did. I found myself standing up for the gay community when I met prejudice and this book helped me put what I felt into words.I have bought copies for friends and am sending one to our homophobic local vicar!
