An amazing product, received on time and in optimal condition, this amazing book has become one of my son's favourite books on his passion with cars, and all that they involve! This book is fascinating as it tells us about the stranger details about car collections, something even I, in my total ignorance of the matter, found extremely interesting!

My son's words were "Great book" and "good read". He's car crazy and it was great to find something slightly different.

The Cobra in the Barn – International Edition 6 Feb 2014
By John Mccarrier - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
Reading this book is like eating a box of very sweet candy. The first few bites are fine but soon your taste buds are overloaded.

The book is poorly structured. It needs more pictures and fewer words. Almost one third of the chapters have no pictures of the car(s) that are the subject of the chapter. Most chapters include too much extraneous information and not enough pictures. Its appears the author was forced to pad the book with extra text to make a page count. Some of the topics are also a stretch. Why is the Amphicar included?

The chapter on the Chrysler Norseman includes two pictures of Andrea Doria but none of the car. It includes three useless pages detailing the timeline of the sinking of the ship. The chapter on the AnyCar, used by a bank to promote car loans, includes pictures of only one of the three versions of the car but gives a history of both car loans in general and the Manufacturers Hanover Trust.

Boring Tales is a more accurate title 18 Oct 2013
By D. Williams - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
There were maybe 2 or 3 stories in this entire book worth reading. Maybe. Most stories were completely boring and unreadable. Half the text read as copy-pasted right out of standard fluff road tests. All but a few photos seemed pointless or out of place. Many stories had no photos at all. Almost no photos of any "barn finds" anywhere, most photos were generic shots of restored cars. Often captions were duplicated. In all, a very sloppy, dull book.

Fascinating stories! 2 Nov 2013

Great tales. Makes you want to wander every back road, on the lookout for that missing treasure. Only disappointment is there needed to be more pictures or illustrations. Lots of fun!

The Rest of the Other Cars. 3 Feb 2014
By Farrell Woods - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
This book explained information on some cars that I had never heard of before. No small trick since I have owned some interesting vehicles over the years,in that time frame I have read about anything automotive around. This hit on cars that I knew of and others that I didn't know existed. It was a great read.
Strange but True Tales of Car Collecting 19 May 2014

I have enjoyed Keith Martin's column in AutoWeek (no longer published). This book isn't a must read, just a nice accompaniment to an evening sipping bourbon, reading amusing stories of other people's problems.
