Matthew Bower is certainly prolific and the quality of the music is of an amazingly high standard.Some of the tracks on this double CD have appeared in a different form on one of Bowers other projects,Mirag,although these tracks appear here in a different form,personally i find this music hypnotic even psychedelic,trance inducing,calming,totally relaxed within a maelstrom of noise.
Skullflower dont really sound like anyone else,and if they keep up this type of quality,who cares?Thank you.

Skullflower may be more interesting to psychonauts who are more interested in the effect of music than its melody. In that respect, Strange Keys to Untune Gods' Firmament is quite trance-inducing. It can be very heavy and isn't for the faint of heart, but it will reward those who are able to discern experimental drone and noise performed by an adept. This amazing two-CD set is waiting for a test-run in your mad science laboratory. Chimpanzee assistant not included.

Matthew Bower is, in my opinion, the greatest exponent of experimental/out/noise of this type. Next to Obsidian Shaking Codex, this is my favorite Skullflower record. Great stuff to listen to on headphones--beautiful, cascading washes of guitar drone. Quite powerful; mighty. Definitely recommended.
