Not only do you get some of the rarer vinyl-only 80s remixes, there's also unreleased mixes, promo only mixes and a Japanese-only New Religion remix that's awesome.
The icing on the cake, however, is the two newly unearthed remixes - Planet Earth (Night Mix) and Hold Back The Rain (Remix). These are two remixes that have never been released. The Planet Earth remix is an actual remix, whereas the original 12" version was a completely new recording.
There's still a few remixes that aren't available on CD (or are rarer than hell), but this is an excellent introduction and perfect way to get a whole load of excellent mixes all at once.

Fantastic. Duran 12" were always something worth buying for the music value rather than to boost sales. This collection includes most of the original versions (with some re-mixing in parts), and also some rarer versions. (Like the Carnival mix of Rio which includes the Solo Saxaphone which was missing from the original UK release - Rio Part 2). Drowning Man is superb, the keyboards and mixing are so catchy you want to just keep playing it over and over again. Although almost double the price of most of the other Duran albums available on here, you get supreme value for money on this 2CD Set. Planet Earth was always my favourite Duran Song and the version here does not dissapoint. Buy it now before they delete it.

As a devoted Duranie, I already had all their albums but thought I'd buy this as well. And I'm glad I did! These extended remixes are terrific - and all a little different from the album versions. The extra time appears to give them more of a chance to showcase their musical talents. The remix of "Hold Back the Rain" alone is worth buying this CD for. What a shame there is no "Save a Prayer."

Since I am a huge Duran Duran fan, I did not hesitate to buy this double CD that features almost all of their best hits in extended original versions. "The Reflex", "Wild Boys", "Planet Earth", "Girls On Film","Notorious" and so on.. are among thier most popular hits during the 80s, all available in maxi version on this great compilation. If you are a fan, this is a MUST for you. Don't hesitate to buy it, before it is out of print :)

This took me back it was like having all my vinyl in the car at once even some of the early stuff sounds bang up to date but they always were a forward thinking band .

Not every mix is much better than the original, which is just a personal opinion, but it is a worthwhile and very enjoyable addition to my collection. I obviously recommend it to any Duran Duran fan.
