1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing, 1 Aug 2009
By GPL (London, UK) - See all my reviews
I was entirely prepared to write a rave review of this book after I had read the previous reader's slating criticism. I enjoyed Linda Blair's critiques in the Guardian newspaper, but this book was indeed very disappointing. It might be of value to someone who has read virtually nothing of literature available in this area, but otherwise was unoriginal, plodding and frankly boring.

1.0 out of 5 stars simplistic and banal, 29 Jun 2009
Bought this book in high hopes of finding it enlightening, thoughtful, and instructive. Most disappointingly it never gets beyond the banal. You'd do better with an intelligent novel about the way human beings struggle with their lives, a quiet corner to read in, and perhaps a refreshing drink to sip as you read.
