This is a brilliant book and any writer can learn a lot about structuring your story. I have learned a great deal from the book myself and it has proved a great help in my writing. If you write any genre of fiction (Script or novel writing, for example) you can learn a great from this book. It's so good I have started to by copies of all the authors' books. In short it's BRILLIANT!

Planning is key to the success of any venture. This book is a terrific resource to aid the author in this crucial task. So good that I bought it twice, once for me and again for a good friend who is also an author. Well written and complete.

This book methodically takes you through creating a plan for your book, how to structure it, and exhaustively lists what the author calls the 55 Dramatic Situations.

The writing is so condensed and efficient it sometimes feels like reading a list or recipe book, but is truly impressive in its completeness. I keep it open on my Kindle whenever I am outlining a new project and it brings me clarity and insight every time I refer to it.

Good book to refer to to check that the plot you have in mind fits the general expectations of that kind of plot. I start with my characters first, figuring out the arc of the main character, then see which of the plots in this book my imagined plot most closely resembles. Gives you confidence that you're on the right track.
