Amazon.co.uk Review

Age 3 and over

. The Little Mole Who Knew it Was None of His Business is, quite simply, one of the funniest books you are ever likely to read (as long as you are not easily offended, that is!), with its unusual take on a natural bodily function combined with a simple tale of nature and discovery.

When the little mole of the title discovers a pile of, well, pooh, on his head, he is absolutely certain that it doesn't belong to him, but sets out on a mission to discover who exactly the culprit really is. His investigation takes him into the world of many animals, as he wanders and compares the pile on his head to the piles that animals leave behind them.

Outrageously funny, this cracking little book is an absolute delight and not only gives children the chance to talk about one of their favourite topics for discussion, but is also an intriguing way of introducing the idea of a nature trail, taking them on a trip that will leave them both laughing and learning.

Perfect for children,of course, but if you are stuck for gift ideas for the adults in your life you may need to look no further. --Susan Harrison

Product Description

A terrible catastrophe befalls the little mole one bright, sunny morning. It looks a little like a sausage, and the worst thing is that it lands right on his head. So our plucky little hero sets out to find out who has left their business on his head.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not too good for the targeted audince... but still hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!, 2 May 2008

One bright morning, the Little Mole woke up and looked up out of the ground when something landed on his head. Follow him as he journeys along to find out who left their business on his head. He also finds out different types of other animals', like bird poop, hare droppings, a horse's dung, cow muck and pig pooh...
Will he find the culprit of the villain that did his work on Little Mole's head?

This book is informative but at the same time very hilarious! I would rate this book 9.5/ 10 and would recommend it to children 4 - 6 years of age even though the subject is not very appropriate and I think that parents my not actually approve of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great story but beware of book size., 21 Jun 2006

I ordered this hardback edition as I read to groups of children and wanted something a bit sturdy. The hardback is sturdy enough ..... it is just very small about 6 inch by 4 inch. This is no good for groups who need to see the pictures as well. My suggestion is to buy the paperback as this is very big and you can see good pictures of poo!
Kids love this book! It is short, funny and has some good pictures. 5 stars for content. 0 stars for hardback size that was not described in the advert.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun fun fun, 15 Feb 2003

I love this book. Er... and so does my daughter. The irreverance is just brilliant.

What's great is getting an unsuspecting Uncle or Aunt to read it to her... they are shocked and amused. It's 2003... books don't need to be po-faced. This book is a lot of fun. But if your spouse is a prude - stay away from it - you could end deep in doo.

UPDATE: I originally wrote this review back in 2003. Now, in 2006, I still feel the same about this book and I have another road-tester (a son, now) who also loves it. My daughter, now reading far more complicated books on her own, still likes to come back to this one from time to time and (with the excuse of reading it to her brother) enjoys is immensely. This has to be a modern classic.
