5.0 out of 5 stars "..VERY COOL HORROR.." 24 April 2012
Well worth the money!! Any horror collection should have this movie in it, very well made film with a great simple but brilliant revenge story. Loads of original and very bloody gore and violence. If you big on the horror genre and have not seen this movie it will not disappoint.

4.0 out of 5 stars NICELY PACED 30 Nov 2012
By BAZ316
This may well be too slow for some, but i found the pacing just right. This couple get caught in a storm whilst boating, find an abandoned house and soon the owners turn up.
Now comes the problem, the owners are 3 vile men,the drunk father and his 2 disgusing sons, they have their plans of what to do with their unexpected visitors.
First there's the uncomfortable feeling that is given,a shower is allowed but their clothes taken, then the men start getting a little too crude with the woman. As the film goes on and the couple are taken to what is basicly a big shed full of tools, the man gets his leg broken and the woman has it made clear they want their wicked way with her.
I don't wish to give too much away, but it's up to the woman to think of a way to outsmart these creeps and the scenes that follow are well worth the wait.
As i say nicely paced,it's not quite as full of laughs as the cover might suggest, but there's some amusing nasty scenes there.
I liked this,it started off a little slow, but it's well worth getting into as even when nothing extreme is happening,it still has a very threatening feel to it,good stuff.

5.0 out of 5 stars Texas Chainsaw Massacre..Aussie style 25 Jan 2011
By A Customer
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
This film does not break any new ground, it's nothing we have not seen before but what it does, it does well.A yuppie couple come across the house of 3 local physco's and it's not long before they regret it!
Gore hounds will love this. It reminded me very much of Texas Chainsaw Massacre but with Austrailians.

Quite graphic in places and really well filmed. It won't win any oscars but for a brainless night in, it does the trick.

A word about the dvd. Picture quality is first rate, the print used is faultless and the 5.1 surround mix is loud and aggresive.

I watch a lot of horror films. Most of them are OK, some are dreadful and on occasions some are truly memorable. Storm Warning is definitely one of the more memorable ones.

It starts off with a couple who rent a boat to go fishing and end up getting lost on their way back. Once they get to shore they start walking and when they get to a road they see what appears to be a dead body, wrapped in a sheet, dumped out the back of a pick up truck. They eventually find a house in the middle of no-where and decide to break in as no-one answers the door. The justification for breaking in being that "it's OK because there's no-one home"! Weird. So far, so cliché. However, once the owners arrive back, things start to get interesting.

What follows is a tense, and at times disturbing, game of cat and mouse. At one stage the couple have the upper hand, then the home owners and the momentum is constantly swinging backwards and forwards that at times you wonder who will end up "winning". There are some very gory moments and a bit towards the end that will guarantee to make every man watching it wince.

Overall this is a very standard horror film. However, with good performances all round, and some genuinely surprising moments, it manages to lift itself above many similar films. It stays in the memory after it's over rather than a lot of horrors that you forget you have ever seen before the credits have finished.

4.0 out of 5 stars Always thought weed was bad for you! 26 Feb 2011
Got recommended this film by a friend and my expectations were not that high as its an old formular. Was very surprised!! The acting as far as i'm concerned was first rate, good story line and 3 of the worst bad guys you would ever want too meet. The father "Poppy" was brilliant beyond words and the 2 sons totally whacked out. Would recomend this film too anyone who loves this genre. P.S Ya gotta love the dog.

3.0 out of 5 stars Blizzard of Oz! 11 Jan 2013
A couple go fishing on a toy boat only to get stranded on an isle when chubby rain sets in. They find a squalid corrugated castle and a shed full of marijuana but just before they get a chance to get high, eat the porridge and sleep in the beds, the 3 bears show up and get cross..
So so Oz rape revenger without the rape. There's one or two squelchy moments of visceral violence but its let down by a rather predictable play out and because of that, a serious lack of tension and suspense. Which is a problem, coz it coulda been much nastier had it used its loaf. The best characters are 'Pop' the paternal figure of the killer clampets and the froggy heroine, who do a decent job. It also could've been much more horrific had it not been so 'noisey', and i was close to getting really irritated at times by it's silly OTT attitude, one stand out example being the bit where the woman goes all A~team in the shed and states some truly rubbish dialogue about mad dogs! Yeah right! In the end its ok and it's short enough to keep you from straying from the path but don't get your hopes up too high as there's much better examples of the sub~genre. The dvd is nothing special but the quality is perfectly sound.

A take on the lost in the middle of nowhere captured movies that the genre is awash with. This one neither entertains or horrifies and is almost so bad it's good. Almost. Read more
