This is the first (and will be the only book by) Chris Wooding that I have read, and as the title suggests, I found the book boring and tasteless. The storyline could have been a lot more developed and perhaps a lot more like how teenagers act. The main characters in this book act like little kids on a grown-up's adventure.
The first few pages looked promising, but I lost interest very quickly after that. The sympathy for Vago is very drab in the novel, and the idea for the ending was good, it lacked real depth. The ending was over very quickly, and this book just doesn't compare with many other dystopian-style novels.
