Having looked at a few different case models I finally settled on the Cm Storm.
I'm very happy with my choice. The handle design is a fantastic idea and does exactly as it should.
The 4 usb slots on the front panel are of great convenience.Plenty of room inside for even the largest of
todays dispay adapters.Very good cable management means all the cables are tucked neatly away.
When I saw 3 120mm cooling fans the first thing I thought of was oh the noise, but believe me they are
so quite,my sky box whims louder. All in all a super case at a reasonable price.

You'd think it would be easy to find a case with all the features you want, without paying silly money, but I found it to be a remarkably difficult trial. This case ended all that.

The CM Scout is sturdy, well-planned, and accommodates plenty of internal bits and pieces. I was originally using an ATI HD 5750 graphics card and there was tonnes of room to spare between that and the side panel. While I wouldn't go as far as to call the case future-proof it does a good job of making sure you won't need to buy a new case for a good long while. Since it's made by Coolermaster you can find bundle deals on certain websites, and I got mine with the Coolermaster Silent Pro 700W Modular PSU which gave me a quiet, versatile PSU at a small saving.

The front panel has power and reset switches, four USB 2.0 ports, an eSATA port, mic in, audio out supporting HD Audio and AC'97, and a button for turning the red LEDs on and off. These LEDs are integrated into two of the three supplied fans. The first fan (140mm) is in the bottom front of the case and draws air in through a filter layer that extends across the full height and width of the case front. This is one of the lit fans, although to be honest you can't really see the lights through the black grille finish unless the room is dark. You can only see them in the case pictured because there is nothing else in it!

The other lit fan (120mm) is mounted at the upper rear of the case by default; this one is set up to blow air out of the back panel. The last fan (140mm) is black and gently blows air out through the top of the case.

Replaced my relatively old case with this one, and I am very pleased. The case itself has a solid build quality, very good (at least for what I am used to) cable management, and you don't need a screwdriver as everything clips into place without screws. I did however need a screwdriver to loosen the thumb screws on the back to start with.

Only issue I had was with the location of the power supply, it's located at the bottom of the case. This meant the ATX12V cable from the power supply was not long enough to plug into the motherboard. This is not really a problem with the case, but something to keep in mind.

Verified Purchase
case build quality is lower than i thought broke 2 of the pci screwless locking plates front self adhesive bezel near the front ports coming off locking plates on the drive bays that don't quit lock . so it only gets a 3 star but these things i can get around still a good case but not great

This case is near perfect for a mid-tower in its price range. There is plenty of space for a third party CPU cooler (I have a hyper 212 and it still has clearance), and space for extended PCB's on a graphics card.. just. There are a lot of cables that have to fit behind the back plate, I could not fit everything and actually run without one thumb screw which is of mild inconvenience, would be much worse for a perfectionist. The no need for tools is really neat and fitting a hard drives/disk drives was so easy. Similarly the clips for PCI-E slots have a technique to them and do break but overall are relatively easy to use.

The biggest floor of this case is that I just dislike the way it looks. It upsets me to look down at the weak LED's and pretty cheap looking 'tinted' plastic side. I also has a friend with a fan pulling air out of the plastic side and the noise is really loud, this is caused by the slits. If you think you won't mind about a bit of an ugly case, go for this the price and functionality are wonderful. If you're looking for a prettier case I wish I had bought a Zalman Z11 or something.

I bought this case back in October 2011 to replace the Dell Vostro 200 as part of a slow but steady system upgrade process!! What can I say!! The case arrived very fast and everything was protected in plastic bubbles!

All the Fans where already fitted in the case and a piece of cake to assembly the wires!! The HDD's and SSD slot are very easy to put into and make changing Drives a breeze!!! It is very easy to move around due to the handle on top (i have moved twice since i bought this and my roomate was struggling to carry his mid-tower while i was smiling and was assured of my purchase) and the 4 usb and eSATA are really helpful.

With regards to noise, compared to the stock dell vostro 200 ( 1 case fan and one cpu fan) it is louder but in comparison to the number of fans i would say it is quite silent!

THe placemnt of the cpu at the bottom is being promoted as a plus...dont see a difference really, but it does tend to get a lot of dust due to the fact that it is on the bottom.

Finally I would have give this a 5/5 however i was a bit dissapointed by the led fans as they are not very bright and cannot see the from the plastic very well!! Would prefered to have a switch for different colors instead an on/off button or fan control.

Overall a great case and worth your money!!
