Product Description

Storm Crow is a code-name used in a variety of terrorist outrages. No-one knows if it's a group, or an individual. Just that when it's used, something dangerous is guaranteed to happen. When Special Branch are called to an abandoned farm in Northumberland, things really start to get serious.

I picked up this book initially because of the cover art work! But having read the blurb on the back of the book I was convinced this book would be a cracker.

And what a cracker it is! The characters in the book are simply great, the main criminal is such a masterful invention of evilness...scary stuff! The plot starts slowly as the characters are introduced but there is always a hint of "what is going to happen?" that makes this book the ultimate page turner. After 250-300 pages or so the plot thickens at break neck pace and it is a depserate race to get to the bottom of the plot!

I love this author and have subsequently read the follow ups Nom de Guerre and The Covenant and can't wait for his new book in Spring 2002!

Buy the books and let Mr. Gulvin take you on the ride of your life!

If you have never read Jeff Gulvin's novels then you should definitely read them now! And you should savour his books because he stopped writing under his name a few years ago and, as I just found out on the web, is now ghost-writing for people like McGregor and Boorman about their motorcycle trips! - what a waste of a huge talent!

This book was the first of his books that I ever read and I just re-read it with the same fascination as the first time round. The characters are very well-drawn and much better written than in so many of the other 'thrillers' that have only 'cardboard' characters in them.

The book came out in 1999 - long before we were all in the recent grip of fearing terrorist threats, but it still gives you a real thrill and hits home with how exposed we all really are.

It's also worth reading Gulvin's subsequent novels, as some of the characters from Stormcrow are picked up in those, like my favourite character 'Harrison'.

I wish I had recommended these books earlier! And I wish someone could tempt Gulvin back into some novel writing along the lines of Storm Crow!

An excellent read that will keep you guessing from beginning to end. Storm Crow is evil and intelligent in a way that even Hannibal Lecter would be hard pressed to compete with.

At first the complex structure of the book seems a bit too heavy - as does the number of technical terms. However, bear with it and by the end of a couple of chapters you will find it hard to put Storm Crow down. When you do finish I dare you not to go and buy the sequel - Nom Du Guerre.
