This book is the best weather photography book I've come across. It's part fine art, part nature. It touches on the life of award-winning weather photographer Jim Reed and provides short stories about what he experienced while storm chasing over fifteen years. It isn't a how-to book, so don't expect a bunch of camera data info on how things were shot. But the images are breathtaking, if not extraordinary, and Reed tells you where and when each of the photos were captured. If you know of anyone who likes weather images or the weather in general, I HIGHLY recommend this book.

Wonderful 26 Feb 2010
Format:Hardcover
An amazing book which I truly enjoyed cover to cover with excellent images and some great stories centered around the photographs. Highly recommended to anyone with even a slight interest in weather. The book is divided into the four seasons starting with winter where mother nature shows her beautiful and destructive side, buy it!!

Very disappointing 18 Jan 2008
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I bought this book after returning from Namibia where I witnessed and manage to photograph some awesome lighting storms. There were no reviews so I made the mistake of buying this book on looks alone. Then I made the mistake of not returning it for a refund in the required time. The book just looks like the pictures were taken by someone who just happened to be in the area at the time of the storm. There is very little in the way of lighting shots and there is no worthwhile mention of how the pictures were taken or what equipment was used. All in all very disappointing :-(
