Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

A tale of courage and determination set amongst the boulders of M'goma hill. Nurtured by his mother, the fierce yet tender Sabba, Kimba the lion learns the ways of the plains--the merciless hunt for food, the danger from ravenous hyenas, leopards, snakes, crocodiles and rival lions. When his father is challenged for the leadership of the pride, Kimba finds himself running for his life. Now he must hunt alone. He must grow fiercer, more powerful, more formidable and ready himself to challenge for the leadership of his old pride. In addition he must also face the lion's greatest enemy--man. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved the book, 19 Mar 2005

There's a little Lion King plot in here, but apart from that it's a wonderful book. The author knows every detail of a lion's life, and in the book the characters are believeable and easy to understand. Kimba is a very endearing story, with plenty of twists. I recommend reading this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars My favourite book ever!!, 28 Jun 2007

'Kimba' is actually my favourite novel of all time - and I have read a LOT of novels in my 21 years of life so far! The story is so well told, the life and environment of the young lion so well described, it's easy to feel that you are a lion yourself experiencing life as Kimba experiences it. If you want to know what a lion's life is really like (and enjoy a great story!) then this is THE book for you!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A very good book! A very exciting story!, 13 Sep 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Kimba (Paperback)
I learned a lot about lions from reading this book. Kimba is a very brave lion. One time he was trapped by a hyena and he was ready to fight, but then Pemba, his mother's friend, came and rescued him. One day he went out and hunted by himself and he got caught by men, a lion's most dangerous enemy. Cutlip was Kimba's second worst enemy. And at the end there is something very exciting!
