WOW !!!!!!What a great first time Kindle book from Martin Dunn. If I lived in Newhaven I would most certainly be glad when Atticus arrives albeit in a cloud of mystery. There are lovely historical notes that really bring you into the time frame when the book is set and the characters are wonderfully written. You cannot help but become invovled in the mystery that surrounds Newhaven. Cant wait for book number 2.

I was lucky enough to get this book for free, which meant that it defied my low expectations from the start. Many of the free books I have obtained from Amazon, with the exception of classics, have been poor. Thankfully, this was not the case here.

The characters and their relationships with each other are well written, and the dialogue is natural rather than that artificial forced type that is more common these days. The lead character was especially interesting, complex without being overly so. The story has a good pace to it and a decent resolution.

This is worth a read

This is an exciting,fantasy adventure story, dark and full of mystery.
Very well written, I was gripped by the characters whether human and non-human.
The story has layer upon layer of intrigue...there is only one problem..I need to know what happens next!!!

absolutley brilliant! really enjoyed reading it, didn't want to put it down. some parts really suprised me. absolutely loved it. need book 2!!!!!!!1 :-)
