5.0 out of 5 stars Some COOL action, 30 May 2008
By ABCeDar - See all my reviews
(TOP 50 REVIEWER)
from the 'Usborne Young Reading' series of books, which combines good stories with easy reading text.

This particular book is from SERIES ONE and is split into THREE chapters:-
Chilly and the bonfire
Snowy and Icy
Freezy's new buttons

From the back cover:-

'Who will be the best dressed snowman in Frostly?
Will Chilly get melted by a blazing bonfire?
And just where did Freezy's new buttons come from?
Put on your snow shoes and join these cool characters in their amazing adventures.'

48 high quality shiny pages in the popular 2-page spread format.
Numbered pages.
Beautifully illustrated throughout, this book is further enhanced by relevant expressions.
Complete with pale blue ribbon bookmark!
Clear, easy-to-follow-text.

Example of text:-

'Jack pulled back his bedroom curtains. A fresh blanket of snow covered the ground.
Pulling on warm clothes, he ran out into the crunchy snow.
"I'm going to build the best snowman ever," Jack thought.
First he made the body...
...then he rolled a snowball for the head.....
...added two black pebbles for eyes....
...four more for a smiley mouth......
....stuck in a carrot for a nose...
and finished off with a hat and scarf.....'

So, ...... so far....it sounds pretty much like a normal snowman?
Maybe not!
And when another few get made.......for the competition....life in Frostly gets rather interesting, and just a little....er......shall we say.... rather `adventurous', for snowmen!

Super book!
