A really lovely selection which ranges from Wodehouse to the obscure and back again - it covers a lot of different cultures and narrative styles as well as giving lots of scope for interest. I bought this because I am going to be teaching a selection from it next year as part of an IGCSE in English Lit, but honestly I ended up reading most of the stories just for pleasure. So whether you are going to study, teach or just enjoy I'd recommend the selection as a nice way to explore the genre of Short Story. Ming the Cat is my favorite!! very dark.

The book was well received and on time. same is for my daugther who is 15 and currently in 10th grade. she will be taking the Cambridge International Examinations and same is a must for this purpose. For what I heard the book countains very nice and interesting stories but personally have not read it yet.
