The first in the series was great and I was worried this would not live up to my expectations. WRONG. A superbly written police procedural storyline sees Morrissey & Barrett hunting for a serial killer of young women and gives us an insight into the killers mind too.
There are sub-plots and blind alleys until the investigation draws to its conclusion and these kept me guessing who the killer was and I made several wrong guesses.
The characters and their relationships are further developed and I very much hope there are more to come, I'll be keeping my eyes out for them although I do hope the editing in the Kindle edition improves as it is very poor in places (starting with character names on page one).

I really enjoyed this sequel which I purchased on Kindle even before I had finished reading 'A lively Form of death' which was the first in the series.
Again there are the errors in the text which come about through the fact that the kindle version is scanned into word document software from a hard copy. This brought about some amusing errors, such as in the opening when a policeman arrives at the scene in a Panda cat (??)
If you can look past the text errors, then this is again a fine read and well worth more than the price of purchase.
I highly recommend this book if you enjoy the genre and wish there were more available, as these first novels are now more than ten years old.

I was disappointed with Morrissey's second outing. Too many names were introduced on a regular basis and there seemed to be jumps in the plot ~ not helped by poor editing in the Kindle edition.
