Product Description

Product Description

Stonehenge is one of the wonders of the world. Its great stones were raised more than 4,000 years ago as a temple to the sun; its banks and ditches are older still. This new guide includes a tour and history of the site and its remarkable landscape, together with full-colour maps, plans, reconstruction drawings and historic photographs.

An interesting informative book which brings the distant past to life. Stonehenge is a marvellous link to that time and I recommend this guide as a good introduction to readers who want to find out more about what life would have been like for our ancestors.

Basic introduction to Stonehenge and contains all the information you need to understand the background and reason for the monument. Not technical but you would not buy this if looking for more academic approach but sufficent information to stimulate further enquiry. Best obtained before you visit as it helps to arrive with some knowledge before the visit though you do not save as it can be bought on site at the same price.Invaluable introduction
