Book Description

Stone Walls - A Novella

Tyler Cameron was at the top of her skiing game. She had everything—fame, endorsements, and any woman she wanted. All was good until a tragic accident put everything in perspective. Tyler was forced to do some serious soul searching, and she was never forced to do anything.

RN Rachel Whitaker was no stranger to disastrous circumstances. She left England because of them, hoping to hide in obscurity behind the stone wall she had quietly constructed brick by brick, but taking care of the convalescing arrogant skier was not helping.

They annoy each other, help each other, and fight each other on a daily basis and hopefully, find love—before they kill each other.

2.0 out of 5 stars horrible quality of the kindle version 22 Aug. 2012
By sisu
Format:Kindle Edition
The book was quite OK to read, not the best ever, but nice bed lecture... but the quality of the Kindle edition was horrible, I have the kindle touch and read a few books on it, before and after this one and it is the only one jumping around, disappearing text, if you try to go back a page text reappear again, than again skipped some pages when you turn pages, you try to go back and again forwards and you have the feeling there is text again diapering...

3.0 out of 5 stars A bit short and some of the dialogue jarring 30 Sept. 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I tried with this book, I liked the premise of the story and bits of it are really well written and enjoyable. But the books a bit short of detail at times as well and so the story moves on quickly and is sometimes not very believable, leaving me going back a few pages to see if I missed something.

Its still worth a read but it's not one of her best works, which is a shame as the main idea of the story was really good.

4.0 out of 5 stars An entertaining read 29 Aug. 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
If you're a fan of Kate Sweeney's writing, which I truly am, this is worthy of your time. Not quite of the calibre of the Kate Ryan Mystery series, in my opinion Kate's best work, but none the less, she delivers an interesting dynamic between the recovering Tyler and her nurse Rachel. Both strong willed and with something to hide, can these two heal each other? I'm sure you'll keep reading to find out.

3.0 out of 5 stars No pain no gain 21 May 2013

I am a big fan of Kate Sweeney's Kate Ryan series - the characters are developed and the stories are fun and romantic. Unfortunately those exact things are missing from this book and although it is as per usual well written, it is rather forgettable.
Good for a quick read on the train, but if you want real entertainment, go with the Kate Ryan series.

2.0 out of 5 stars Stilted 23 Sept. 2012
By jodydc - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I was disappointed with this one. It had the potential to be a good fun story, but was stilted, slow and predictable.

Even though lesbian fiction is often very formulaic, this book it seemed like the formula was a given and Sweeney didn't worry too much about fleshing it out. They met, there was no chemistry and then all of a sudden it was on. There wasn't real development of their relationship, instead the author used (and used, and used) a quote from a poem to sum up the entire basis for the relationship.

Not my favorite.

5.0 out of 5 stars just right 6 Sept. 2012
By Alexi - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
this book seemed just right to me. it took a hard assed sporty stud and turned her into quite the romantic. i loved that. the determination to make love work is a favorite theme of mine in a book, as opposed to those books where both protagonists deny their feelings until the end. This one was sweet. it was also very hot in several scenes, so it wont let you down there either.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great 31 Jan. 2013

A very good story I just wish there was more. There is room for more detail especially toward the end. It seems like the second part of the book was rushed. Regardless the plot was very entertaining and very well written.
