As they wait for their wedding day to approach, they discover three Sisters of Light are pursuing Richard, intending to take him back to the Old World to be trained as a Wizard. Stones of Tears is the second in the Sword of Truth Series and I have read the book twice already. The author has created characters you really care about and you want to win through. The story is well thought out and fast paced with barely a pause between adventures. The imagination of Terry Goodkind leaves you breathless and gasping for more. Stones of Tears is a flowing story following the main characters, Richard, the Seeker of Truth and newly realised wizard, and his love Kahlan, the Mother Confessor, go through trials and tribulations in their quest to defeat the evil of Darken Rahl and his master. Stone of Tears has some of the creatures and characters you will find in other fantasy books, a dragon, wizards but several morenever heard of before. Each hero and villain is unique in themselves. The story is overflowing with magic and adventure and creates a story with is a must for fantasy readers old and young alike.

I used to think nothing could be better than Lord Of The Rings until I picked up the Sword of Truth series. Once you pick up these books you will be lost for days in Richard and Kahlan's world. Mr Goodkind's writing is simply amazing he can introduce new characters with ease making you feel as though you have been reading about them for ages when in actual fact you have only read two pages about them and then other times he will leave you sweating and unable to put the book down. This is such a long book but make no mistake you will hang on to every word! . If you only buy one Fantasy book make sure you buy this one it's buy far and away the best out there.

Epic shock
Terry is very close to the knuckle. His books are almost shock fantasy with spriklings of Ayn Rand. Inparts the book can be brutal, it doesn't skim over rape or slaughter. Read more

"Good intentions, being kind, can encourage the lazy, and motivate sound minds to become indolent. The more help you give them, the more help they need. As long as your kindness is open-ended, they never gain discipline, dignity, or self-reliance. Your kindness impoverishes their humanity. "e;

"The Second Rule is that the greatest harm can result from the best intentions. It sounds a paradox, but kindness and good intentions can be an insidious path to destruction. Sometimes doing what seems right is wrong, and can cause harm. The only counter to it is knowledge, wisdom, forethought, and understanding the First Rule. Even then, that is not always enough." "e;
