Stone and Sun
The magic spiral of stone

Jonah Lightfoot discovers just how dangerous it is to wield power. He rescued his stone-age friend from death, but in doing so he created another world of Stone. And there the evil dragon Archan survived. Now Archan is back! The only way to defeat her forever is to reach the top of Stone, where the two worlds meet at Sunlight Pass. But on Stone ascent is forbidden. To fall is to die. The only way Jonag can reach the top of Stone is to fly…

Fortunately, the Bark used by the basilisks, the makers of Stone, has been restored by Grandfather Tree. Committed to the final confrontation, and desperate to gain the advantage of arriving first at the battleground, Jonah and his companions attempt a perilous airborne journey, cutting across the helix that protects the world of Stone.

Format: Paperback
The Stone series of books is one of the most original fantasy series I've read in a long time. The journeys of Jonah Lightfoot through the amazing vertical world of Stone are breath taking and moving - i cried at the end of this last book in the series. My favourite characteris Annie West, who is a feisty Wild-West girl who makes a great comparison for Jonah's English reserve. The action scenes are amazing and the descriptions of the strange world are very vivid. The dragon characters like evil Archan connect this series with Edwards' Dragoncharm books, but you don't need to know anything aboutthem to enjoy these. Stone and Sun is a great climax to an totally original trilogy.
