Nice 12 Feb 2009
By J Bell - Published on Amazon.com
I purchased both the wooden runes and the stone runes. The stone runes do not lay flat and are not easy to read as the gold paint extends beyond the carved symbols.

Good product, but not what described. 11 Dec 2009

I bought the runes as a Yule gift for a man. However, when I received them, they were rose quartz and not a black stone. I wish it would've mentioned that in the description. If it did, then I didn't see it. I may end up having to buy another set.

Personally, I'm very pleased 15 Sep 2009
By S. Noyes - Published on Amazon.com
I bought this set of runes and the two books suggested with them: "The Runes" and "A Handbook of Rune Magic"

Understand now... This was my first exposure, and I thought the price & package more than fair.
And stone runes! How permanent is that?!?
That & 2 books? Not a bad introductory package, in my mind...

My true opinion - before I go on?
If they appeal to you - buy them!
I'm VERY happy.
They speak to me. Amazingly so.
But if you doubt them? Let them go!
There are other "fish in the sea..."
I think that is the most important thing...
You are not making these for yourself - so trust them, or move on.
Be honest.
They're not yours.
You will make them yours when they arrive - or you will not.
Decide.

So...
To the more initiated, who advise making your own, ensuring they lay flat, and so on...
I get it - I think. (I'm still new...)
It is certainly difficult to tell if these are reversed - (or "merkstave"?)
But you know what?
These talk to me.
And I adjust.
I don't do a "spread" the "normal" way.
I roll the stones in the bag, and wait for one to roll out into my hand.
(And I don't make it easy...)
Or sometimes I stick in 1 finger and poke around until a stone & my fingertip seem satisfied.
(How do you describe it? "Attached?" No. "Aware?" No. Just... "take this one...")
Then I fish that one to the top so I can get it - and only it - in my hand.

In sum?
I liked them. I bought them. I consecrated them when I got them. (A simple "ritual" between us alone.)
And they speak to me.

That's what you want.
Go find your runes.
Be well.
