Starting stone lithography was a terrifying ordeal with lost images and filling in prints. This book serves as a handy small sized guide to techniques and problems encountered in the mysterious art of lithography, as well as being an excellent creative resource book of other artists' work. This book has been used by many in my print studio, with some even trying stone litho after seeing the work featured. Experimental techniques are also covered with ingredients listed in British terms!
With "Stone Lithography" Paul Croft has created an excellent resource for both the beginner and the experienced lithographer. History, process and technique are clearly explained with concise text and full-color illustrations. This should be an essential part of any artist's library, and on every printmaker's sidetable.

While the neat little tome covers the subject well enough, it lacks the depth that you find in other books on the subject like the Tamarand produced book or others. If rudimentry and efficient is what you are looking for -this little book is just the ticket
