5.0 out of 5 stars easy flowing storyline 26 Jun 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
When I bought this book, I admit I was intrigued. How many times have you ever seen a statue and just felt...OH! I have to have that but not really understanding why you felt so drawn to it? Or find yourself sitting in a garden somewhere where you felt comfortable with the statues surrounding you and wondering what they would say if they could talk?

I absolutely love the way the writer added in the Gods. What a unique twist! And two men falling in love with one woman while playing a game; priceless!

The writing style is wonderful. The plot is unique. Tessa's writing style is all her own. She has a strong character base, and to be honest I had a difficult time myself siding for which brother I wanted to win.

Hats off to you, Tessa! You have created a wonderful storyline. I look forward to reading more of your books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic read! 1 Jun 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
We meet a lonely lady named Stella. When she spots a spectacular statue of a man named, Mercury, she knows she has to have him. But he's way too expensive, so she just buys a bird bath for her garden. When the delivery comes, she's blown away when she finds out the hunky cashier named Justin bought the statue for her.

Stella visits Mercury every day in her garden at the special spot she picked for him. She feels an attraction she can't explain and even feels silly for it. And she wishes he was real. Stella kisses and hugs him and even starts to feel his warm lips. One night she has a dream that he entered her room and they have beautiful sex. Little does she know, it's all real.

Justin asks her out and they start a courtship. Mercury is upset by this, but this is the game they have played for centuries. And the plot deepens...especially when Justin walks out of her life after he asked her to marry him. Stella is devastated. There is a turn of events that will blow you away. And the ending was done perfectly!

What I really like about this paranormal romance was how different and unique it was. I'm so tired of the same old stuff out there. This was really creative and I thought the romance was so sweet and tender. It's all about finding true love and that special Prince Charming in your life. And I guarantee you will fall in love with Mercury the way I did. He's so handsome, dashing, and passionate. But then again, so is Justin!

This book was the perfect blend of fantasy, romance, and fairytale. My attention was captured and I never let go, glued to every page. I have to commend this author on creating such a distinctive world with hunky gods. She kept me thoroughly entertained. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars A really fun paranormal romance! 19 May 2012
By Annie
Format:Kindle Edition
"Stone Kisses" is a romantic modern-day fairytale about two brothers, Nathan and Justin, caught up in a game of the gods (it turns out their mother is a goddess), and the girl they both fall hopelessly in love with.

Stella is a smart, compassionate woman who heads out one day to purchase flowers at the gardening store and comes home with Mercury, a life-size stone statue, which she places in her garden. She develops an instant attraction to Mercury--even her next-door neighbors notice the "poor girl" talking to Mercury and occasionally hugging him.

But unknown to her, Stella's words and touches warm Mercury's stone heart and he gradually becomes more and more human. In the meantime, his all-too-human brother, Justin, is also falling in love with Stella, and now the game is on.

The story is full of twists and clever touches--such as when Jove tells his son, "You'll find Aphrodite in the computer under the Christmas card list." There are also many comical and poignant moments--such as when Justin's tears turn to stone as he loses his humanity, or when somebody gives Stella Mercury's broken stone foot to hold.

Paranormal blends flawlessly with romance in this beautifully crafted book--for mature audiences. You empathize immediately with Stella and hope she finds true love! Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Myths, magic and sizzling romance 24 April 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
One lonely girl, two hunky guys competing for her affections, sizzling sex, magical romance and a touch of comedy running through the story - what more could you want?

Stone Kisses is a heady blend of Greek and Roman mythology with a thoroughly modern twist. Little problem with affairs of the heart? Leave a message on Aphrodite's voicemail. Simple. Of course it isn't that simple, because as we all know even in mythology (especially in mythology) the course of true love never runs smooth, but the concept was so great it had me smiling anyway. You can't blame a protagonist for trying!

This is a lovely paranormal romance, very original and creative, so easy to curl up and lose yourself in that I read it in two sittings. Just as a gentle note of caution, the sex in this was much stronger than the author's Seven Spell series, so if you're coming to this from that, be prepared, (but boy, was it great).

If you love romance, paranormal magic or you're just looking for a cracking good read, then I highly recommend this book.

Each time she kisses and hugs him, he becomes more alive. And the plot deepens...especially when Justin walks out of her life after he asked her to marry him. Stella is devastated. 3.0 out of 5 stars Stone Kisses brings ancient mythology to the modern day 22 April 2014
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com

Stone Kisses brings ancient mythology to the modern day with this interesting tale of love, longing and passion. Romance novels are not my usual genre, however the twist in this story kept me interested to the end. I almost didn't make it past the first few pages of the book. To be honest, a woman suddenly and inexplicably falling in love with a statue is more that a little strange. I kept reading though, hoping there was a good explanation to the whole thing. And, there was. Maybe the explanation was not as concrete (pardon the pun) as I would have liked, but it was as believable as it could be under the circumstances. Who knows how we would really react if Greek gods started playing games with us mere mortals? So giving a little leeway to the non-traditional storyline, I wasn't unhappy with how the story progressed. The story did not end how I expected it to. Two days after reading the book, I am still pondering how I feel about it. There were still a lot of unanswered questions for sure. I don't hate that. I like to mull a story over and try to figure out what might happen after the book ends. This one may have left a little too much to mull over though. Maybe a sequel is in the works? Overall, it is a good story and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a non-traditional romance with a few "passionate" scenes.
5.0 out of 5 stars Unlike any other book I've read 12 Feb 2013

Without going into the plot of the story, the author intrigued me with this title and I found myself caught up in the series of events as a woman began to develop feelings for the statue in her garden. Though based upon fantasy, it goes to show that, under the right set of circumstances, a heart of stone can be melted.

The book had more sexual interludes than I expected but there was enough substance to the story that it felt like a worthwhile read with a few twists and turns to keep me captivated. The way the author sucked me into the story was worth 5 stars, in and of itself.

Note: I purchased this title through a different website.
