Cath Staincliffe paints such a true picture of my home town Manchester that it hurts - and still manages to raise a smile from me as I recognise the good bits as well. A sound plot that doesn't insult your intelligence, plenty of sub-plots that complement the main theme, and characters so real you start thinking you actually know them. She doesn't stuff the political issues down your throat, but they do catch in it. Highly recommended.
