Book Description

Katie was an innocent 13-year-old schoolgirl when she was targeted, raped and abused by a gang of sadistic men. But that was just the beginning…Bullied from an early age Katie had low self-esteem which made her a prime target for the paedophile that followed her home from school. In the following months she was systematically groomed and raped by a group of predatory Asian men who separated her from her friends and passed her between them. But it was the ring leader Zeb who lured her with drugs and alcohol before raping her at a secret house which he used to exploit young girls. Katie’s abuse went on for two agonizing years until Zeb came up with an even more sickening plan. Stolen Girl is the shocking true story of a lost childhood innocence but it is also one of hope and how Katie found the strength and courage not only to escape her abusers but to bring them to justice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stolen Girl by Katie Taylor 11 Feb. 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book is excellent and truly inspiring. I couldn't put this book down and read it in 2 days. The life that Katie lead was one that no child or human being should ever have to live. The thing's they did to her were horrifying. It was nice knowing she finally got the support and help needed especially her father. This book will give hope to other victims to show they beat these monsters. I recommend this book to everyone, it is a sad but truly amazing story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gripping from start to finish! 17 Jan. 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I could not put this book down and read it in one sitting! It is the harrowing story of katie who is bullied at school from a young age, then abused by a ring of paedophiles from age 13 to 15. It is a well written book and the story of one girl's courage after years of abuse! Thanks to her courage many young girls have no doubt been saved from a similar fate. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shocking & sad 28 Mar. 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Couldn't put this book down although at times it was difficult go read. The author has been so brave to share her ordeal and years of a lost childhood. Hopefully this will raise awareness of this and prevent it from happening in the future. The fact that she has managed to move on with her life is an inspiration and should make us all feel grateful for our unharmed childhoods

5.0 out of 5 stars Slow starter but an unforgettable read 24 Feb. 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book was very slow to start. It's not until you are about 50% into the book that the pace and story really picks. Prior to this I found the story quite repetitive and almost gave up. That said, I'm glad I stuck with it as the second half was shock and horror page after page.

Katie's story is harrowing and I was so relieved that she found the courage to share her story with the school counsellor. Both naieve and streetwise, I did find myself questioning and trying to understand the choices she made for a little love and affection. Nonetheless, that is no excuse for the horrific behavior of those that abused her - in my opinion they got away quite lightly for all they had put her through!

A must read though a scary read, especially if you are the mother of a young teenage daughter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shocking & disturbing. 7 Feb. 2013
By 36E
Format:Paperback
I found this story very disturbing indeed. Perhaps the worst situations, other than the awful sexual activities, for me were those of the bullying that went on in this girl's schools. This, I believe, was a recent case so what are those schools doing - they should be ashamed of their lack of policy on this awful behaviour carried out quite overtly at times, as in the classroom 'scene' with the teaching assistant; unforgivable.
However, this story needs to be read and 'broadcast' and then all communities need to work together to prevent this dreadful exploitation of the young.
