About the Author
Richard Murphy followed the family tradition and became an ardent Stoke fan, starting at home to Leeds United on a freezing cold night in 1979. From standing on a stool as a young boy on the Boothen End through to travelling to matches regularly from Scotland and Germany, this passion for the club has never wavered. He has written a wide range of articles about the club and edited a Stoke City website.
