I've been looking at this book for a while but was a little put off by the first review - eventually I decided to give it a go anyway. I can't tell you how glad I am that I got this book - it is beautiful. I do quite a bit of sewing and there are so many ideas in here that I would like to try directly, and I've gained so much inspiration for projects of my own. As I sat and flicked through I got that far too rare crafting excitement - the woman who wrote this book is obviously a passionate crafter. I would recommend this book for sewing fans who are looking for projects, or ideas for embellishments for their own projects. I would also recommend it to scrap bookers who have a little sewing skill (not much needed as it has very clear instruction) and are looking for really unique decorating ideas. There are also projects that will have your little girl jumping with excitement - see for yourself!

I must admit that I'm struggling to see who this book was aimed at - the designs, while some of them pretty, are too simplistic and basic for anyone who has a good grasp of the sewing techniques used, and yet far too hard for a beginner like me as it doesn't contain any decent instructions. What annoyed me most was that the nicest designs include crochet flowers, without any basic instructions on how to crochet. In summary, not clever or stylish enough for an established crafter, too hard for someone new to textiles.

This book is a brilliant referance for things like recycled textile broaches.... the pictures are inspiring and useful. easy to follow short book. a real bargin

A lovely craft book
I am really pleased with this book, and find it very inspiring.
The projects are nice and the materials to make them are obtainable, would definitely recommend it!

suitable for complete beginners
I think the first review was a little harsh. However, I was disappointed with this book. If you are new to crafting though you'll love it but for me I found it very basic. Read more
