What a fun, real and fantastic book! I read this book over two days on my holiday and could not put it down! A seriously enjoyable read with many `I can relate to that!' moments and it made me laugh out loud a number of times! Very funny and very readable! I felt a little lost when it was finished and I'm already looking forward to the next book by this author!

I have to admit to having had reservations when, as a chap, I ventured into the first chapter of this rather pink publication. It took less than a page, however, for me to be utterly transfixed by the hilarious succession of anecdotes that ensues. This is a book about being a single woman, and the author's analytical and charmingly neurotic approach to the dating ritual is clearly something that women will relate to and revere. But this is also a book about men. There are many of them, and they come in many shapes and sizes, with a range of behavioural tendencies towards our heroine, but by the end I felt nothing short of enlightened. This is how we come across! This is how not to behave! This is how women interpret what we do. I would encourage men everywhere to perouse past the pinkness, and read this book. As well as being relentlessly funny and un-put-down-ably gripping, it is a hugely insightful glimpse into the minds of those whom we seek to impress.

I was persuaded to read this great debut book by a female friend who wouldn't stop talking about it. Initially I was unsure -as a male reader- whether I could cope with the content: all kinds of detailed dating related questions are asked which I was unaware even existed! However, as I read on I realised that I could still very much enjoy the narrative which takes one on a journey through the dating life of a modern 30-something British girl. While one follows a year in the life of our protagonist, we are also taken on a thoroughly enjoyable journey through Britain and British culture.
A great read, and great debut book, heres waiting for the next Alison Taylor instalment!

Alison Taylor has written a masterpiece with her debut publication. There are few people who can write a book where just about every page will have you laughing to yourself, often out loud. Yet this book is also much more than humour; it's an honest, heart-on-the -sleeve analysis of the quest for love in the third millennium. This is a romantic novel, an academic paper and a comedy.
Alison Taylor is a mix of Sue Townsend, Woody Allen, Ricky Gervais and Charlotte Bronte. This book is brilliant. Don't hesitate. Buy it now.

Wow what a great read. Its not my normal cup of tea (being a married male) but I haven't enjoyed a book this much for a long time.

This book made me chuckle and laugh out loud - at times I wanted to yell at the author Alison Taylor: 'where do you find these losers'. There are also some sadder, more poignant moments that are wonderfully written.

I finished this book in less than a day and my wife grabbed it straight off me having seen my reaction - all in all an amazing summer read.

I read my girlfriend's copy as I ran out of reading materials on our beach holiday. And whoa, was I not prepared for this!
A remarkably brave, and sometimes uncomfortably honest, insight in the workings of a young woman looking for old-school love.
I have to admit I squirmed sometimes, but laughed more - it's super-witty-finger-on-the-pulse stuff. The music she listens to and the places in London she hangs out make it all the cooler. Bravo.

One of THE funniest books I have ever read. Great to read a book by a very funny woman, featuring other very funny women. Very cool and honest - so refreshing. It doesn't matter if you're single or in a relationship, you will be laughing and crying along with Alison. It's reassuring to know I'm not the only girl who over-analyses text messages! My boyfriend read it too and loved it. And my mum! Brilliant.
