Product Description

Terry Hearn is a carp-angling phenomenon. More than an angler, Terry is an accomplished carp hunter, with a hunter's eye, dedication and instincts. He has an uncanny ability to tune-in to his quarry's environment, and he makes full use of what he learns. There is nothing magical about what Terry does. His staggering catches are the product of his skills as a carp hunter aligned with a passion for his sport that burns ever brighter with the passage of time. With over 390 images and 488 pages this is a fantastic book for any carp angler.

Terry Hearn is a bit of an enigma in the carping world. No one doubts his keenness or skill but some anglers cringe at a few of his exploits and the fact that he seems to fish full-time while most of us just do it for a hobby. Still, wouldn't we all, given the chance? This book hints at some of Terry's more minor rule bending and gives an insight into his obsessiveness. The writing itself is rather bland and uninspiring and Terry will never be a Chris Yates or 'BB'; there are lots of spelling and punctuation errors - but this is more a criticism of the proof reader than the author, who at least wrote the book himself. Despite this, I enjoyed the descriptions of the fish captures and the photographs of some truly awesome carp are stunning.

If you think catching big (very big) carp is down to luck then read this & Terry's first book.
The time dedicated to observing his quarry, the miles travelled, the attention to detail are a lesson to us all. The end results make it all worth while but luck has very little to do with it.
Another very enjoyable book. Roll on the next one.
