Michael Chapman 11 Oct 2005
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
Originally released in 1992 on cassette only, this CD was remixed by Michael in 2002 that also took the opportunity to add 5 bonus tracks recorded at KBSK Radio, Los Angeles.

Included are re-recordings of Michael's classic tracks like Postcards Of Scarborough as well as interpretations of beautiful folk songs like She Moves Through The Fair.

Singer songwriter Michael Chapman first appeared on the London folk circuit in 1967 alongside such notables as John Martyn and Roy Harper. His first album release was 'Rainmaker' in 1969 on the Harvest label, and he was a permanent fixture on the folk and 'progressive' scenes during the festivals of the early 1970's. Such musicians as Mick Ronson, Rick Kemp and Keef Hartley on the 20 or so albums that he has made to date enhanced his gravelly voice, evocative lyrics and fantastic acoustic playing.

A Stunning Album. 18 Aug 2008
By Alan Burridge TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Audio CD
After an illness which almost killed him, Michael Chapman came back with this stunning 1993 album, the title reflecting his roots in his first 1969 album titled 'Rainmaker.' The classic 'Postcards Of Scarborough' has been re-recorded, of course, and Chapman's amazing yet mournful voice never fails in sending a shiver down the spine when he sings it; the lyrics putting wonderful images into the consciousness.
Every track is a winner, (though 'Geordie's Down The Road' is a little off-par), but 'Fool In The Night' and the astoundingly beautiful 'She Moves Through The Fair' more than make up for just that one track which doesn't suit my own taste.
Now it has been re-issued with extra tracks, but either way, this is an excellent album.
