Product Description
A methodical female assassin is stalking and killing members of a ruthless criminal organization. The killer, a mysterious young Russian woman, dispatches her victims with Black Widow brutality, working her way through the ranks of thugs, and drug dealers. One of her victims survives. A wealthy, retired crime boss, Virgil. He shares a past with the Russian Woman and her betrayal breaks his heart. Furious and paranoid, Virgil cannot trust even his closest associates. So, he enlists a crooked homicide detective, Beck, to track her down before the police get to her.

I bought this on the strength of Stana Katic being in it and really enjoyed it. I can think of a lot worse ways to spend an hour and a half. Lots of familiar faces and production values seemed absolutely fine to me though I had read a review that said otherwise. Unmissable for SK fans.

Yes this is a straight to DVD action/thriller. But unlike the endless run of the mill garbage these sorts of films usually amount too. This is a brilliant film. It's a ferocious tale of one woman's vengeance on a ruthless criminal organization (I can't give away why she is undertaking such a task because that is revealed late in the film) Stana Katic is outstanding as the films protagonist. She pulls off the sexy femme fatale character with ease. She even manages to look genuine in her action scenes. Talking of which, at times I had to remember I was not watching a gore flick. Because the fight and killing scenes are extremely brutal and graphic. What also makes this film above average is a truly outstanding cast. William Forsythe, James Russo, Tom Sizemore, Kelly Hu and 80's legend Tom Berenger all put in good turns. But the real stand-out is Michel Beihn as the sadistic Lee. He gets some of the best scenes. Particularly when he unleashes a vicious beating on Stana Katic. It is truly a shocking scene. Don't be put off by cheesy 80's style trailer that promotes this film. This is enjoyable from start to finish.

One of today's better action films, STILETTO is just one and a half hours of pure entertainment. Stana Katic delivers a good performance as the vengeful assassin, and it is always a pleasure to see Tom Berenger and William Forsythe on screen.
Otherwise you get brutal violence, some cliches and a quickly paced story - what more do you want in an action film.
The best part though for me was Amanda Brooks' performance as the psychotic English girl who just about tops everyone in sadism and her dirty mouth. Just a pleasure to watch.
