Steven Symes grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. At a very young age Steven showed an intense interest in storytelling as well as the paranormal.

After attending two semesters of college in Arizona, Steven moved to Central America for several years. After returning to the United States, Steven moved to Utah to complete his undergraduate studies in English. During Steven's studies his interest in the paranormal intensified after taking two folklore classes as well as several other courses that touched on the subject.

Steven regularly contributes to the paranormal blog Paranormal Old Pueblo and also worked as the Salt Lake City Paranormal Examiner. His writings on other subjects have appeared in a number of both print and online publications.
