Product Description

Steve Coogan's live show from autumn 1998 features five of his comic creations. Pauline Calf performs her self-composed James Bond theme Shirley Bassey-style, while brother Paul attempts to woo a lady folk singer. Pop sensation Tony Ferrino sings 'Lap Dancing Lady', stand-up Duncan Thickett attempts to prove that it's a funny old world, while chat show supremo Alan Partridge also puts in an appearance.

4.0 out of 5 stars The man who really is it. 16 Sep 2007
Format:DVD
Two live shows on one disc,'the man who thinks he's it' recorded live at The Palace Theatre in Manchester and 'live 'n' lewd' performed live at London's Lyceum theatre.
All his favourite characters appear,Alan Partridge,Paul and Pauline Calf,Tony Ferrino,Ernest Moss and the irritating Duncan Thicket, plus glimpses of Steve backstage.
This really is laugh a minute comedy with Paul 'i hate students' Calf and sister Pauline stealing the show during nearly three hours worth of material.
Fans of Steve Coogan will love this and i am so glad i decided to add this to my collection,it was the best night out i've had in years.

5.0 out of 5 stars More than just brilliant comedy 7 Sep 2000
By A Customer
Format:VHS Tape
I went to see Coogan in London on the same tour but had to buy the video to re-live a superb evening. He plays the characters so convincingly, you'd think someone in Hollywood may have snapped him up by now. His work is so different and original that it's impossible not to be impressed by his talents. This video represents all these qualities. Can't wait for the next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Coogan, King of Comedy 5 July 2000
By A Customer
Format:VHS Tape
Definatly the funiest video I've ever watched. Steve Coogan is as supurb live on stage as he is on TV. Steve plays five different characters that are all completely different from each other, but all totally hilarious in thier own way. But, Alan Partridge is, in my mind, the best. If you have never watched Steve Coogan before you have to realise that his comedy is in a class of it's own, it is a totally different kind of comedy from anything else.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent unmissable DVD 11 Oct 2001
By A Customer
Format:DVD
This is probably the best comedy to ever come out of Britain in the last 10 years, Coogan is exceptional - all his characters have something to offer, his talent in these shows rates him up with the best.
If you fancy a night in then this DVD will keep you glued to your TV, do yourself a favour & buy this DVD if only to see what your missing

5.0 out of 5 stars a complete dvd of pure genius 20 Jan 2001
By A Customer
Format:DVD
What a total classic, this film is Steve Coogan at his best. There is no doubt; this dvd proves Steve Coogan should be better appreciated. Even if you have never seen his material before, you will find him hilarious. If you want to add some decent comedy to your dvd collection this is it with the bonus material not on the video making this dvd a top buy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth having 23 Nov 2008
By Sek
Format:DVD
Well worth having in your collection as great value.

The only bits I wasn't keen on were the backstage links as I felt they were too contrived and took away the momentum from the live performances, serving only as padding.

Nonetheless, both shows had me laughing. Some of the supporting cast are fantastic - particularly John Thomson in his take-off of the late Bernard Manning as compere.
