Format:Audio CD
What the other bloke said is true, this album is not high quality recording. It is, however, very high quality music. I think it portrays how Beck's musical abilities were already above average even before he had the luxuries of recording studios and all the musical facilities most other artists have grown up with. To me, this is probably the most inspiring album i own. It provides excellent motovation for when you just feel like giving up.

This is one hell of an album. Since I first heard Milk and Honey and Hotwax some years I've been hooked always looking for another Beck song to feed my appetite. Stereopathetic Soul manure relit the spark I first got from Beck, It has the weirdness of Midnight Vultures and the acousticness of Mutations. If mellow gold was your thing this is amazing. Sure some of the tracks may be badly recorded, and just random noises, but its an ace album, a must own for any Beck fan.
I must add though I found one foot in the grave the best album he's done.

This is one for the hardcore Beck fan, if you like Odelay and Mellow Gold, you'll probably enjoy this, but if the more accoustic, mellow beck of Mutations and Sea Change is your cup of tea you may not enjoy it so much.
Well worth a listen in my opinion.

lo-fi hero
wait. before you buy this 1. don't expect super studio production and 2. "proper songs" because this CD was recorded on 4 track at it's best and dictophone at it's worst. Read more
