5.0 out of 5 stars THE BEST ALBUM EVER! 5 Oct 2001
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
This album is truly stunning! any music lover of R&B MUST own this album it is awesome! The Cleopatra girls have gone for an all new R&B sound with slammin beats and heavy bass lines that put destiny's child to shame! From the fantastic dancehall style 'Who's your Woman' to the Aaliyah flavoured 'Questions & Jealousy',top pop single 'Come & Get Me',soft ballad 'Nobody Said' to the fabulous 'Take me now (stop, stop) and 'Yes this partie's goin' right' (a single in Japan) and the sultry sassy 'Sweat Me' this album is truly outstanding, there is not ONE bad track on here.
If you can try to get hold of the north American version of the album as it has two extra tracks - the pop song 'No 1 fan' dedicated to the girls fans world wide and the amazing UK garage flavoured two step beat of 'You can't be in my life'. These girls are STEPPIN OUT and STEPPIN ON the competition - PATRATASTIC!

this album is fantastic- although there are still a few areas in which it could be improved- eg (Press here to start? -) whats that all about- oh yeah cleos computer of all things! if anyone bought comin atcha their debut album you would firstly notice that this album is hardly pop dominated- instead it has a pop-RandB sound which contrasts so well. Cleos voice is nothing short of brilliant and its always good to hear her hitting those top notes! I would reccomend that you buy this album- if only for the great songs on their. You dont have to like cleopatra- but they have grown up alot- and as a result so has their music. If u like pop RandB buy it

4.0 out of 5 stars All Grown Up 25 Aug 2000
By BWM - Published on
Format:Audio CD
I had my reservations about buying this new release from Cleopatra. As much as I liked the playfulness of "Cleopatra's Theme" ("Cleopatra - Comin Attcha!"), their first album failed to deliver the rest of the goods. Their sound was unrefined and their songs extremely immature and trite - but then it was expected - after all these girls were barely 15.
Fast forward two years later and I cannot believe what a change they've made. "Steppin' Out" is extremely grown-up and the arrangements sophisticated and detailed - yet fun and experimental. It's also really refreshing not to hear the 'standard tricks" ("robot voices" "talk-singing" and "uninspired raps") on this album currently plaguing the likes of Destiny's Child, 702, Blaque, Janet and countless others. Even the samples are unique and respectful to old school R&B like the small and barely recognizable clip from "Strawberry Letter 23" in "Questions and Jealousy."
This album is extremely well done and even when the girls decide to show their age, like in their weakest track, "Bingo", the result is fun and not immature. I highly recommend this record for any fan of pop or R&B as it is fast becoming one of my favorites of the year.

3.0 out of 5 stars "Stepppin' Out": Not A Step Up 31 Aug 2000
By Chuck Goodson - Published on
Format:Audio CD
Sadly, I was disappointed by this CD. I absoulutely loved their debut album and was really looking forward to this one. My one hope was that they wouldn't give up their unique personality, but that is exactly what happened. All of the uniqueness that was Cleopatra has been erased and replaced with what can only described as "assembly-line R&B'. The only song that seemed free of this was track #5. But one song is not enough to make a CD. But I have faith in them, and I think they will realize that this is not the way to go. I'm betting that their third album is going to be a knock-out. (If you like typical R&B type stuff you might enjoy it more than me, though. I just think they have more talent than the typical R&B group and simply sold their talent short on this one.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Note from Cleo, Zaniam, and Yonah 16 Aug 2001

Hey guys! Thanks for being so positive on our sophomore album STEPPIN' OUT We have been disappearing out of the spotlight for the year; But we're still here. Hopefully L.E.T management will release the album in the UK soon. They're looking at release dates for 2002. But, all of the rumors that me, (Cleo), am going solo, those are completely false. In September of 2001, we will be working on our new third album with L.E.T. managment and it WILL be released in the UK. We have a deal of five CD's with L.E.T and after we release our last three albums, we will sign a new record deal. From now on, our CD's will come out in a year in a half differences. But look out for our new album CLEOPATRA GIRLS due out in December 2001. Featuring the first single 'Pretty Pop' due out in October.
But we're planning on releasing the last following singles from our album: (U Got It/Come & Get Me combination...already released) (Sweat Me/Yes This Party's Going Right combination...released September 4, 2001 - look for the video on August 27th 2001 for each videos.
And now we have to log out but we'll see ya soon and keep getting us #1st place!
Love you all,
Cleo/Yonah/Zaniam (CLEOPATRA)

This is an amazing cd I think Cleopatra is a great group and out of all the female groups today they could be considered the realest. These girls are three sisters so you know if they do break up they wont hide it from the public like( destiny's child) or make up phony stories. But on this album the girls have matured very much sience their debut in ''98''.I think people will be suprised with how great this album is the stadout songs are the first single ''U Got It'' also,''Take Me Now'',''This Party's Going Right'',''Voo Doo'',and Who's Your Woman''.Only song I wouldn't recommend is Bingo My Love. But other wise if your looking for a great album this i it.
