5.0 out of 5 stars There on their way, 22 Aug 2007
Atmospherically brilliant, This film is all about a small group of people who whilst on an aeroplane fall asleep, when they wake up everybody else on board has disapeared, and everybody on earth is gone.. They need to land to find fuel but are totally perplexed that no one is responding to there calls for help, eventually they do land and they can hear crunching sounds in the distance, what could it be , im not going to spoil it for you, all i can say is its kings imagination at its very best, a great adaption from best selling book to film, buy this its a super film for all the family.

4.0 out of 5 stars Underrated King, 1 Aug 2009
By Dead Ted Danson (Truth Or Consequences, New Mexicock) - See all my reviews

The Langoliers was a made for TV movie, and it shows, but it's still a worthwhile watch. It has a truly unique concept (as far as I'm aware anyway) and a great cast of C-List actors, including David Morse, Dean Stockwell, Patricia Wettig and Bronson Pinchot in astoundingly infuriating form as token psycho Craig Toomey.

Essentially, the passengers on a certain flight land in an airport that's somewhat askew. Things don't taste right, there's no echo, and most importantly, there's no people. A fairly interesting premise made better by a fairly appealing set of characters, many of whom have a beef with one another for a number of reasons.

The music is terrible and the photography bland and dated, but it's worth watching for the performances and for the unravelling thrill of finding out just what the heck is going on.

In the King TV-movie stakes, somewhere between the so-so Storm Of The Century, and the much better The Stand.

A bit wierd - a bit ridiculous ( the longaliers special effects)and interesting at the same time. Curiosity will keep you watching rather than enjoyment.

4.0 out of 5 stars sci fi mystery, a good film
This is a sci-fi mystery film. It has a mild mystery atmosphere throughout. Slow but constant pace, moderate suspense, nice acting. Low badget, probably, but it works. Read more
