DVD Description

Cat's Eye: What does a stray cat have in common with a radical technique to quit smoking, the window ledge of a sky scraper, and an evil goblin? Three of Stephen King's most imaginatively terrifying tales brought to life in this chilling trilogy of short stories...

Silver Bullet: The small American town of Tarker's Mills is a place where everyone cares as much about everyone else as they do about themselves. When the Tarker's Mills tranquility is disrupted by the horrific discoveries of mutilated bodies of friends and relatives, the whole town is out for justice. A young handicapped boy, Marty Coslaw, is convinced it is the work of a werewolf. Involving his sister Jane, he uncovers the truth behind the werewolf...

Maximum Overdrive: A comet comes within range of earth and begins circling the planet. But a strange chain reaction comes to force. Suddenly, machines everywhere have become their own masters, beginning a horrifying, deathly and violent revolt against their masters. Can the shell shocked survivors escape to a place where the mad machines cannot reach them?

Stephen is King 3 Jun 2011
By West25
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
As a big Stephen King fan, I have enjoyed many of the films adapted from his novels and these are no exception. Maximum Overdrive is a little campy today but is a very fun film that doesn't take itself seriously, 8/10. Silver Bullet is my least favourite of the three, that doesn't mean I didn't like it though. It stars a young Corey Haim afew years before he was in the Lost Boys, Gary Busey and Everett McGill who played the father in The people under the stairs. 7.5/10. Lastly is Cats eye, this movie is the main reason I got the box set. The first two tales in this compilation movie are fantastic, just my opinion but the third part feels weak compared to the previous two. Still gets a 8.5/10 from me. Though non of these films come close to the likes of The Shining, Misery, Carrie or Creepshow, it is an excellent set of lesser known King films. I would have given it 5 stars but the fact that non of the movies come with extras I just can't.

Nice little boxset 6 Feb 2011
Format:DVD
I am very happy to finnally own this Boxset however I did mainly get it for Maximum Overdrive, The films are all in widescreen and delivery a good clear picture they also all have 5.1 sound and really the only draw back on the Dvds are the poor artwork on each dvd case they really look like a pound shop job and thats why I did not give five stars rating however I would reccommend it fo under £10.

I am a huge STEPHEN KING fan , at first I only bought this boxset for one movie alone, the fabulous 80s horror classic CAT'S EYE , for anyone who has not seen CAT'S EYE ,then its quite like movies such as CREEPSHOW and TRICK R TREAT , meaning it tells three seperate tales of horror , but the main story/ theme is about a stray cat desperately trying to find and protect a little girl , who is getting her breath stolen from her by an evil troll like creature , its terrific , I love it

The other two movies were just a bonus to begin with , but found SILVER BULLET to be an an excellent kinda guess who the werewolf is story ,it stars the late COREY HAIM and GARY BUSEY ,really liked it , the werewolf fx are a bit dodgy in places , but it's still great fun
Have not watched MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE yet ,gonna watch it soon , but I know it is directed by the great man himself / STEPHEN KING ,and it stars EMILIO ESTEVEZ , who i really liked in the YOUNG GUNS movies

I thought that this box set was excellent value for money , CAT'S EYE itself is now a deleted UK region 2 dvd these days , and it can be pretty expensive to get a hold off , so apart from anything else ,this box set made great financial sense

A MUST SEE MOVIE TRIPLE BILL FOR ALL STEPHEN KING FANS - AND A GREAT ADDITION TO ANY DVD COLLECTION TO BOOT

Great stuff from the King, as always
SK isn't always great (hate the fantasy stuff - he bangs on for far too long about dreams and suchlike) but this is the good, old-fashioned stuff he's rightly famous for. Read more

In my mind that's simply a credit to the powers of Mr King in... Read more

Nice selection of films
I bought this mostly for Maximum Overdrive: that has to be my favourite Stephen King film.

Cat's Eye is also very good, and very funny. Read more
