Product Description

The Last Chance to See saw Britain's best-loved wit and raconteur, Stephen Fry, follow in his great friend Douglas Adams' footsteps with zoologist Mark Carwardine, in search of some of the rarest and most threatened animals on earth.

The Last Chance to See Complete Collection is a 3 disc set featuring the original BBC series alongside a new unseen episode called Last Chance To See - Return of The Rhino. The Return of the Rhino (available on DVD for the first time) sees Stephen and Mark embark on a new adventure to follow an attempt to take Rhinos from captivity and return them to Kenya. Last Chance to See is a unique and thought provoking insight into the disappearing world around us.

I loved this series on TV and so was very pleased when it came out on DVD. There is a beautiful book to go with the series. Each episode discusses a critically endangered living thing and seeks to find it and explore its habitat and history in the process. Stephen Fry is nicely compliemented by scientist Mark Carwardine and the whole thing is slick, compassionate and amusing. TV at its best. Well done BBC, yet another excellent use of our money.

Of course this is a wonderful TV series which I bought for my hearing impaired daughter to review as part of a university course. However, although the original programmes were broadcast with teletext subtitles they are not included on this DVD.
So it is useless for anyone with a hearing impairment. Shame on the BBC for allowing their content to be distributed in a form which excludes this group of people.
